I'd almost convinced myself I was done with heavy mapping for a while, but March 6 is pulling me back in. Mirage isn't just another "click the thing, get the loot" league, either. It's the sort of update that makes you rethink how you prep a map, what you bring in, and how hard you want to push. If you're the type who plans your Atlas night like a shopping list, you'll probably be eyeing poe currency for sale just to keep up with the extra investment Mirage seems to reward.

Mirage Realms and Wishes
The core loop is simple, but it hits that sweet PoE spot where "simple" turns into "one more run." You find an elemental Djinn trapped by the Afarud and step through a gateway into a Mirage version of your current map. It's not a separate activity bolted on the side; it mirrors what you're already doing. Your Scarabs, Atlas passives, and map mods carry over, so you're not choosing between progress and league content. Before you jump in, you pick a Wish modifier. Wish for Avarice can shower you with gold-dropping elites, while Wish for Glyphs turns boring scroll drops into currency you actually care about.

Loot That Actually Changes Your Setup
The drops don't feel like filler, which is a relief. Coins of Knowledge, Power, and Skill let you corrupt max-level skill gems and add a bonus support effect tied to the gem's colour. That's the kind of "small" system that ends up warping whole builds once people start testing breakpoints. There's also a neat restoration angle: the Afarud steal corrupted Maraketh relics, and a Coin of Restoration can bring them back to their original, stronger forms. Stick with it long enough and you'll be staring down Saresh, of the Weeping Black, a new pinnacle fight guarding high-end crafting rewards.

Atlas Rebuilt, Not Just Tweaked
The bigger story for veterans is the Atlas getting torn up and rebuilt. Maps aren't locked to specific zones anymore; you use generic tiered map items and choose the location you want, expanding out from the centre. It sounds like a small wording change, but it's going to alter how people sustain, how they target farm, and how quickly they pivot when a strategy dries up. Arcane Astrolabes let you form Shaped Regions, stacking mechanics like Legion or Blight to crank difficulty and chase big payouts inside Memory Vaults. Expect plenty of "this is busted" moments, followed by players refining the route until it's just clean, repeatable profit.

New Supports, New Builds, and Smoother Trading
Buildcrafting's getting a proper shake-up too. Awakened Supports are out, replaced by more than forty Exceptional Support Gems that change behaviour rather than just boosting numbers, including wild stuff like Hextoad Support spawning explosive swamp toads. Templars get fresh holy skills, and Scion's new Reliquarian Ascendancy looks like trouble in the best way, letting you borrow the effects of a unique weapon, armour piece, and jewellery item for some truly weird combos. Add QoL like opening your stash during trades, auto-turning in Divination cards, and less-annoying shrine hitboxes, and it's easy to see why people will go hard early; if you want to gear fast without wasting hours, plenty of players will lean on eznpc for buying currency or items and getting back to the fun part of the grind.
